Desi’s Blog O’ Thoughts

I have so much work to do for school. I am like 4 chapters behind on reading. I have not even begun to write my midterm which is due in 10 days. I have not even started work on my psych test, at all. I figured this would be a great time to update my blog and see what’s happening on Facebook.

At my Drop Out gig the dance teacher showed her advanced class Fame the original. I hear everything from the dance room in my office I heard the music for the audition sequence and I just couldn’t concentrate. It was great to see the kids as invested in Fame as I was so many years ago. It was even better to watch the whole “that was my audition Leroy” sequence while at work. Good Day.

I watched the final episode of ER on Thursday. I felt like I had invested so many years – I just had to be there. Oh so good. The annoying new doctors didn’t annoy me so much. I was crying before they even get to the actual episode. I watched the behind the scenes interviews and was shocked that I knew about 86% of the episodes and lines the actors commented on. Though I feel like the Nurses who have been there since the 1^st episode to this last episode should have been interviewed or at least gotten a shout out. Neela is good and what not but she is no Helay or Chuly (which are also the best character names ever!). At the end of the episode I said “There are only four minutes left? What are they going to do?” My roommate had to tell me “That’s it Desi. No more.” I strange silence fell upon me. Thank God for TNT reruns and do they still show E.R. Theater on ABC?

I am joining the Queens Gay and Lesbian Pride committee. Apparently I will be representing the black and the lesbian – wish me luck.

Things I wondered…

1)  Who is going to buy their child the plastic doll with wings, connected to a string that spins around called “Sally Butterflying Fun”? Not I said the Desi! 

2)  What is the response to “The Dr. was so impersonal, you know he’s a jew”? I went and got a coffee I was so perplexed.

3)  How do you avoid sending your best friend love notes intended for your girlfriend? Luckily outside of the nicknames and activities we partake in my messages for both of them are kind of interchangeable.  I just double check the address

(My therapist is hot. I like when she bends over to pick things up. She makes me sexist. Wait, I am a girl…Am I still sexist? )
